Natural Stone Retaining Wall

Project Overview

A sloped backyard in Barrington was eroding badly, threatening the home's rear patio and creating a muddy, unusable lower yard. RCC Masonry designed and built a 65-foot natural stone retaining wall using weathered limestone boulders, incorporating a tiered design that created two usable terraced levels. We installed proper drainage behind the wall with perforated pipe and clean gravel backfill to manage hydrostatic pressure and prevent future failures. Native plantings were added to the terraced beds for a natural, finished look. The wall not only solved the erosion problem but added a dramatic landscape feature that significantly increased the property's outdoor living space and overall value.
