Full Chimney Reconstruction

Project Overview

This Wauconda residence had a chimney that was leaning nearly two inches off plumb due to decades of settling and water damage at the crown. Multiple previous patch attempts had failed, and the homeowner was advised by their home inspector that a full rebuild was the only safe solution. RCC Masonry dismantled the chimney from the roofline up — approximately 14 courses of brick — and rebuilt it from scratch using new matching brick and a reinforced flue liner. We installed a custom stainless steel chimney cap and poured a new concrete crown with a proper drip edge to prevent future water penetration. The rebuilt chimney now stands perfectly plumb and is rated for safe fireplace use for decades to come.
