Project Overview

This century-old Crystal Lake home featured deteriorating mortar joints throughout the entire front facade, with significant water infiltration causing interior damage during heavy rains. RCC Masonry performed a complete tuckpointing restoration, carefully grinding out all failing mortar to a uniform depth and repointing with color-matched Type S mortar. Our crew worked section by section over two weeks, ensuring consistent joint profiles and a seamless blend with the original brickwork. The homeowner reported zero leaks following the next major storm — a testament to the quality of our mortar application and joint sealing technique. We also applied a breathable siloxane sealer to protect against future freeze-thaw cycles common in McHenry County winters.
