A Johnsburg couple dreamed of a backyard patio that looked like natural flagstone but with the durability and low maintenance of concrete. RCC Masonry designed and poured a 450-square-foot stamped concrete patio using an Ashlar Slate pattern with a Walnut base color and Dark Walnut release agent for realistic depth and variation. We formed the patio with a gentle 2% slope away from the house for proper drainage and included a 12-inch step-down bordered section for their fire pit area. After the concrete cured, we applied two coats of high-gloss acrylic sealer to bring out the color and protect the surface from UV fading and staining. The finished patio provides the elegant look of natural stone at a fraction of the cost, and the homeowners now host outdoor gatherings every weekend.
