Brushed Concrete Sidewalk

Project Overview

A Chicago homeowner needed their aging, cracked sidewalk replaced with a fresh concrete walkway along the side of their home. RCC Masonry demolished and removed the old sidewalk, prepared a properly graded and compacted gravel subbase, and poured new reinforced concrete panels with a clean brushed finish for slip resistance. We formed straight, consistent edges tight against the home's brick foundation and ensured proper drainage slope away from the structure. Control joints were cut at regular intervals to prevent random cracking. The new brushed concrete sidewalk provides a clean, professional look that ties in perfectly with the home's brick exterior and will hold up for decades through Chicago's tough freeze-thaw winters.
