Backyard Broom Finish Concrete Patio

Project Overview

A Lake in the Hills family wanted a clean, low-maintenance backyard patio to replace their worn grass area behind the house. RCC Masonry poured a new concrete patio with a classic broom finish for a clean, slip-resistant surface perfect for outdoor furniture and entertaining. We excavated and graded the area with proper drainage slope away from the home's foundation, laid compacted CA-6 gravel base, and poured air-entrained 4,000 PSI concrete reinforced with fiber mesh for long-lasting durability. The broom finish was applied in a consistent pattern for an even, professional look that complements the home's exterior. Control joints were precision-cut to prevent random cracking. The result is a spacious, functional outdoor living space the family uses daily for grilling, relaxing, and kids' play — a major upgrade from the muddy yard they had before.
